Salary: $36.60-40.67 Hourly up to $40.67/hr
We are looking for a Color Designer who will bring products to life through the strategic application of color, impacting everything from initial concept to final production for our client. This is a 5-month hybrid position in Beaverton, OR. We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to execute and refine color designs, playing a critical role in the aesthetic appeal and marketability of products. You will be instrumental in translating creative visions into tangible results, collaborating across various teams to ensure every product tells a compelling visual story. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering innovative and retailable solutions that resonate with consumers and uphold the company's reputation for design excellence. Responsibilities
- Execute and finalize color designs for products, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and consistent application across all items.
- Proactively manage the color execution process, from initial concept to final production, reviewing all samples to achieve marketable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with design, marketing, and development teams, as well as material consultants, to integrate color solutions that meet quality, cost, manufacturability, sustainability, and aesthetic requirements.
- Maintain and manage color calendars, timelines, and deadlines for your assigned categories, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery.
- Utilize specialized design tools and product data management systems to develop line art, manage color data, and coordinate materials for products.
- Create and implement innovative, retailable color solutions for specific product categories or gender lines, contributing to seasonal design direction.
- Conduct consumer research, analyze market trends, and study competitor products to inform color strategies and ensure solutions align with consumer preferences and brand positioning.
- Clearly communicate and present category-specific color directions and merchandising strategies to relevant stakeholders.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth, enhancing functional expertise in areas such as materials, special effects, technology, and advanced development, and contributing to the overall value of color design within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of directly relevant work experience in color design or a related creative field.
- Alternatively, the following combinations of education and experience may be accepted:
- PhD or Law degree + 1 year of experience.
- Master's degree + 0-3 years of experience.
- Associate's degree + 1-3 years of experience.
- High School Diploma + 3-5 years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to execute color designs and finalize product details.
- Proficiency in maintaining design calendars and managing project timelines.
- Experience with product planning and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of color theory, design principles, and market trends.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for product aesthetics is a nice-to-have
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively, is a nice-to-have.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a continuous drive for innovation is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with consumer research and applying insights to design solutions.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
