We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Commissioning Agent to join our expanding commissioning practice in our Milwaukee office. This position presents an opportunity to work with our expanding portfolio of client types across multiple industries and in locations all across the country. The successful candidate will play a key role in the future development and enhancement of our commissioning service team while working on a variety of project types including new construction, retro-commissioning, and facility assessment analysis.

Responsibilities may include:



  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, including preparation and review of the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), verification of the Basis of Design (BOD), participation in design and construction submittal reviews, and development of commissioning specifications, construction verification checklists, and functional performance testing protocols.
  • Participate in project team meetings and coordinate commissioning process requirements and schedules.
  • Conduct project site visits observing construction progress, reviewing completion of pre-functional checklists, and witnessing integrated systems testing for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, controls, and building envelope systems.
  • Document and maintain issues tracking log through all project phases.
  • Prepare progress and final commissioning reports.
  • Perform retro-commissioning and existing building assessments to identify energy inefficiencies, operational issues, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage multiple projects, track commissioning schedules, and contribute to quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in business development and project pursuit efforts including project proposal and fee development, assessment of future project opportunities, and growing client relationships.
  • Provide support and mentorship of less experienced staff and contribute to team growth and development.



We are considering a candidate who possesses the following basic qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Active commissioning certification from ACG, ASHRAE, BCxA, University of Wisconsin, or similar.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in building commissioning, with a focus on MEP systems in commercial or institutional settings.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards including (e.g., ASHRAE Standards 202 and 230, ASHRAE Guidelines 0, 1.1, and 1.2, etc.).
  • Proficiency in commissioning software/tools (e.g., Facility Grid, CxAlloy, CxPlanner, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience with BAS controls operation and troubleshooting
  • Experience in the development and leadership of a team of professionals.
  • Experience in project management and business development.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excels in working independently or as part of a team.


The ideal candidate would also have the following preferred qualifications:



  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer and/or maintains an active LEED certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of building Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Fire Protection systems.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Product suite is preferred (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks)
