Overview
BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Systems Engineer / Product Manager with 3+ years of experience to provide Systems Engineering support to the Support Equipment Systems (SE SYS) Externally Directed Team (EDT) and to a variety of support equipment product development and in-service support efforts for Organizational-Level maintenance of Electronic Warfare (EW) weapon systems such as USN/USMC and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) radar warning, missile warning, and electronic countermeasure systems at NAWCWD, Pt Mugu CA. The typical annual salary range for this position is $100,000.00 USD to $150,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
Responsibilities
Primary Focus
SE SYS EW Team and Development Lead(s) support:
- Systems Engineering: Requirements elicitation and analysis, system design, interface definition, integration and testing planning, and documentation
- Project Management: Business planning, configuration management, project execution, current year and long-term budget planning, funds execution, work product proposals, work package development and tracking, and coordinating current year and follow-on year's funding with various customers and international partners
- Agile Development Support: Assisting with Agile software development planning and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and daily stand-up meetings
- Resource Management: Supporting project resource allocation and tracking
- Project Monitoring: Assessing project costs, schedule, and performance, and providing technical assistance in planning, implementing, and tracking project execution and associated budgets
Project Management
- Contribute to the management of complex technical projects that encompass systems evaluation, development, integration, and deployment of quality products that are produced to meet customer requirements in a timely and effective manner
- Assist in generating Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates, monitor and update Project Plans to ensure team members, processes, facilities, and equipment are fully available to meet the program schedule, requirements, and performance goals
- Interface with PMAs for project status with the direction of Product Leads. This covers areas of new product development and product sustainment

Requirements:
- Experience in developing and documenting system requirements, specifications, and test plans
- Experience in systems engineering principles and practices, including requirements management, system design, integration, and testing
- Familiarity with EW Systems and Organizational maintenance test systems is preferred
- Demonstrated analytical and technical background in systems engineering and related fields
- Must have excellent written and communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with others across multiple sites
- Experience in monitoring, managing, and reporting project cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Experience creating and executing budgets is preferred. Familiarity with MS Project and Office applications is desired
- Must have effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the management of complex technical projects that encompass systems evaluation, development, integration, and deployment
- Demonstrated experience in technical contributions within a cross-functional project team
- Experience supporting program leads with all aspects of program execution
Qualifications
- Between 3+ years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description
- This position will require technical creativity, innovation, and development of concepts from EW gap analysis to white paper proposal to implementation of ideas to address the EW gaps
- Qualified to analyze and interpret INTEL data from various sources and understand threats characteristics
- Experience with EW systems, designing, and making trade-off decisions
- Familiar with laboratory RF simulators and test equipment
- Software-related experience with Visual Studio to program in C++ and C#; and IntelliJ for programming in Java is a plus
- Basic knowledge of radar and communication systems
- Experience with signal processing, MATLab proficiencies
- Ability to work independently, in a team environment, or lead a small team
- Familiar with operations and applications of the EW suite
- Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-Verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening-for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal
EDUCATION Degree: BS or BA degree in Systems Engineering or a relevant technical discipline. Allowable Substitution: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant associate degree. Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description. CLEARANCE - Secret Condition of Employment: Applicant must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
