The Role

The Digital Engineering Group promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model-based services and technologies. The group defines the company strategy around the use of BIMs, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule.

Leveraging Suffolk's deep design, engineering, and construction knowledge, the Senior Digital Engineer is responsible for delivering and overseeing Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Digital Delivery, and innovative digital processes on multiple medium-to-large projects within one of Suffolk's regions. This role serves as both a hands-on project contributor and a mentor to Digital Engineers, bridging the gap between technical execution and project-level strategy.



Responsibilities

    Lead the execution of BIM Execution Plans and Digital Engineering strategies on assigned projects.

  • Develop 3D, 4D, and 5D models for site safety & logistics plans and trade coordination; integrate construction sequencing and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Facilitate and manage trade coordination meetings; create and manage clash reports, document resolutions, and track issues to closure.

  • Perform design model quality control reviews and create reports and present findings.

  • Support Digital Delivery management and delivery, ensuring successful project team experiences with all approved 3rd party vendors; including cost and change management.

  • Collect, track, and analyze project KPIs; recommend and implement process improvements.

  • Manage scopes, schedules, and budgets for Digital Engineering deliverables on assigned projects.

  • Provide training and support of software and tools to project teams.

  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams.



Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in an accredited industry related curriculum.

  • 3-7 years of VDC related design and/or construction experience demonstrated progression of technical skills and responsibilities.

  • Proven ability to manage digital engineering tasks across multiple projects or one complex project.

  • Strong understanding of general construction techniques, systems, and building types.

  • Proficiency with 3D parametric modeling software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and model coordination tools.

  • Proficiency with the following applications: Procore, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam at a minimum.

  • Maintains responsibility for day-to-day interaction and relationships with all project stakeholders.

Compensation Information

Base Salary for this position is just one component of Suffolk's total compensation package for employees. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.
