POSITION MISSION

The Director, Total Rewards leads the enterprise design, governance, and execution of Bagel Brands' total rewards and people services strategies, including compensation, benefits,peopleservices, and compliance. This roleensuresprograms are competitive,equitable, compliant, and scalable, while aligned with business priorities across the organization.

As a key member of the People leadership team, the Director owns end-to-end compensation and benefits strategy and administration, ensures strong compliance and risk management, and deliverspeopleservices with accuracy, consistency, and care. In alignment with Bagel Brands' Mission, Vision, and Values, this role enables a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance, while ensuring team members feel valued and treated fairly.

ENTERPRISE SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This role has functional accountability for the enterprise design, governance, and execution of:

  • Compensation programs, pay philosophy, and governance

  • Benefits strategy, broker relationships, and administration

  • Equity plan administration and supporting systems

  • People Services delivery model, shared services, and case management

  • People compliance programs, audits, and risk management

The Director partners closely withOperations,Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT, and external vendors to ensure programs, services, and systemsoperateaccurately, compliantly, and at scale.

Please Note:The range provided below encompasses a wide range of Bagel Brands roles. The specific salary range for this role is

  • Department:People Department

  • Reports to:Chief People Officer

  • Supervises:Total Rewards, People Services, People Compliance

  • Base Salary Range:$175,000-$220,000 annually

  • Bonus:20% annual incentive target

  • Long-Term Incentive (LTI): $30,000

  • Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Total Rewards Program Ownership & Execution

  • Lead Bagel Brands' total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and equity, ensuringaccurate, consistent, and compliant execution.

  • Ownenterprise compensation processes, including merit cycles, promotions and market adjustments, equity administration, and executive compensation support.

  • Drive job architecture, leveling, market pricing, and pay analysis in partnership with Finance andPeopleleadership.

  • Advise leaders on compensation decisions, offers, retention strategies, and internal equity considerations, escalating risksas needed.

  • Establish andmaintaincompensation guidelines and governance frameworks to ensure fair and defensible application.

Benefits Strategy, Broker & Vendor Management

  • Own enterprise benefits strategy and administration across medical, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, leave, and ancillary programs.

  • Lead broker and vendor relationships, including RFPs, renewals, competitive bidding, performance management, and issue resolution.

  • Lead annual open enrollment end-to-end, including planning, communications, system readiness, training, and issue resolution.

  • Provide functional ownership of benefits platforms and HRIS benefits modules, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience.

  • Monitor utilization, cost trends, and regulatorychanges, recommending plan design, funding, or vendor changes as appropriate.

People Services Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the People Services function responsible for employee-facing service delivery and transactional support.

  • Oversee end-to-end People Services operations, including onboarding, job changes, pay updates,benefitssupport, leave coordination, and offboarding.

  • Own People Services case management and ticketing systems, including workflows, prioritization, service levels, escalation, and reporting.

  • Serve asfunctionalowner of People Services systems and tools, partnering with IT on enhancements and integrations.

  • Establish service standards and KPIs, using data to drive continuous improvement and reduce repeat issues.

People Compliance

  • Lead enterprisepeoplecompliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation, benefits, equity, leave, and employment practices.

  • Own people-related audits, regulatory reporting, documentation, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee compliance execution supported by HR, benefits, equity, and leave administration platforms.

  • Partner with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and IT to manage regulatory changes, audits, and corrective actions.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex compliance matters and regulatory inquiries.

Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop reporting and dashboards across compensation, benefits, equity,peopleservices, and compliance to support leadership decision-making.

  • Translate data into insights byidentifyingtrends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Drive process simplification and automation in partnership with IT and vendors to improve efficiency and scale.

  • Support change management and communicationsfortotal rewards,peopleservices, and compliance initiatives.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead and develop the Total Rewards, People Services, and People Compliance teams with clear priorities and accountability.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with Bagel Brands' Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT, and People Business Partners to support effective execution andleadercapability.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, ora relatedfieldrequired; advanced degree or relevant certifications (CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP) preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with deepexpertisein Total Rewards(compensation and benefits), compliance, and HR operations or partnership.

  • Experience running enterprise compensation and benefits processes, including open enrollment and broker management.

  • Demonstratedsuccessleading teams, managing complex programs, and influencing senior leaders.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in a multi-location, multi-state organization; hospitality, retail, or restaurant experience preferred.
