Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically driven professional to join our Parts & Services team as a Spare Part Specialist. In this role, you will take ownership of critical activities related to material master data, BOM governance, and engineered parts creation, acting as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales.

This is a dynamic position with high visibility, offering the opportunity to influence processes that impact on customer satisfaction. You will collaborate across multiple departments - Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Service - while driving improvements in data accuracy and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:




  • Maintain and update material master data (lead time, technical documentation, sales information), based on the data given.
  • Work and track non-direct replacement for obsolescence requests together with engineering.
  • Create new parts for obsolete materials, ensuring proper documentation and successor assignment.
  • Create new parts from AS400 to SAP, ensuring cross-referencing and data integrity.
  • Create new material master records in SAP for engineered items, interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Create, Release and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Work with Special Procurement 30
  • Expand basic part numbers from other regions for VPA, validating technical equivalence and purchasing strategy.
  • Assist with technical data clarification for other departments.
  • Identify local equivalents for foreign material grades using Voith Standards.
  • Identify spare parts from assemblies, technical drawings, and services reports.
  • Provide support and clarification for material master data to other departments.
  • Participate in training new hires on material master



Required Skills/Abilities




  • Previous experience in parts & services or in paper industry is highly valued.
  • Experience with technical drawing interpretation and CAD software.
  • Ability to work independently while building strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in technical environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of paper machines or paper production processes.
  • Proficient in SAP (material master, BOM views) and AS400



Education




  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field - or proven 3-5 years of technical experience in spare parts, or related industries.
