Position Summary:

The Senior International Local Procurement Adviser is responsible for leading and supporting the integration of local procurement, social procurement, and sustainability outcomes across Woodside's International locations. This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align strategies to optimize our local procurement, modern slavery prevention, and broader social impact initiatives. The role will play a critical part in influencing procurement practices and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, corporate reporting standards, and regional and local procurement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development & Leadership



  • Serve as the international focal point for social procurement activities including local procurement and modern slavery compliance. Coordinate and plan in collaboration with corporate affairs, legal, human resources, and asset owners.
  • Recommend local procurement plans in collaboration with senior leadership and business units. Integrate local procurement strategies and focus areas into corporate and asset goals.
  • Influence procurement and contract teams to deliver on local and social procurement outcomes aligned with organizational drivers and business priorities.
  • Promote the ongoing advancement and refinement of social procurement strategies and frameworks to achieve sustained long-term improvements.


Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building



  • Build connections with local suppliers to identify potential opportunities for U.S. assets. Work with international contracts advisers to support best practices that strengthen local procurement.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and corporate affairs to support supplier development programs.
  • Conduct supplier roadshows in operating regions to build awareness of procurement opportunities and how it provides shared value to Woodside and the communities where we operate.
  • Provide education and training to C&P teams and stakeholders on social procurement awareness and governance.


Program Development & Innovation



  • Co-lead supplier development programs aimed to enhance supplier capabilities.
  • Promote local innovation, research, and product development through existing Woodside partnerships.
  • Embed local procurement practices into business planning and procurement processes.


Reporting & Governance



  • Work with systems teams to develop and monitor compliance, reporting, and tracking mechanisms for social procurement and local procurement.
  • Collate and analyze data to support business reporting (e.g., Sustainability Disclosures, Modern Slavery Statements, Board Reports).
  • Maintain and update social performance scorecards in collaboration with corporate affairs, following Woodside's Sustainable Communities Policies, Climate and Sustainable Strategy, and Social Performance Standards.


Representation & Governance



  • Representative at Local procurement events and forums.
  • Collaborate with Australian Social Procurement lead to ensure consistent and aligned approaches globally.



Skills and Experience:



  • Proven experience in social procurement, local procurement strategies, and/or sustainable procurement practices in an international context.
  • Strong understanding of modern slavery legislation, small and local businesses, and sustainability reporting standards.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including procurement, corporate affairs, legal, and sustainability functions, both regionally and globally.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive strategic outcomes.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement, sustainability, or corporate social responsibility (desirable).



Travel Requirements:



  • Some domestic and international travel may be required to engage with regional teams, suppliers, and attend relevant events.


Location:



  • Houston, Texas. No remobilization.
