Our Professional Services Organization is an area of our company responsible for developing technical resources, training staff, integrating technology and driving a culture of quality. These practices improve our competitiveness and fuel our growth.

As the NC RBG Professional Services Leader (PSL), you will work alongside the NC RBG Manager (RBGM) and NC RBG Business Class Leads (BCLs) and Business Class Managers to provide technical oversight and staffing assignments for RBG projects across the North Carolina area. You will coordinate with Market Sector Leadership and the RBG Professional Services Director, to implement the Business Group's technical and quality initiatives within the RBG.

As NC RBG PSL, you will lead the project delivery staff as well as lead technical development of the professional practices defined for the area including programs for career development, recognition, and retention of staff. You will also support recruiting efforts to attract talent. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PSL will be responsible for collaborating on technical delivery and business development for cross-business group opportunities within the area.

In the role of NC Resources Business Group Professional Services Lead, we'll count on you to:

  • Be responsible to the Area Business Group Manager to develop, coordinate, monitor and improve technical competencies of area staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers.
  • Champion and lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities striving for continuous improvement, including driving implementation of Area BG Corrective Actions from Quality and Corporate Audits.
  • Monitor and/or participate in major project QC Review activities including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers.
  • Partner with and support Area Business Group Manager for all aspects of annual budgeting.
  • Manage and monitor Area Business Group overhead budget and approvals of minor expenditures.
  • Review and approval of standard proposals and pursuits, including delegated MOA authority.
  • Champion and lead continuous improvement including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices and lessons learned.
  • Lead non-critical project reviews, including delegated MOA authority.
  • Support project teams with management of claims and losses.
  • Workshare monitoring, communications, and troubleshooting.
  • Consolidate, process, and support Area Business Group participation in professional societies and technical and industry conferences.
  • Work with BGM and AM to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with Area, corporate policy and MOA.
  • Collaborate with Area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders.
  • Participate in Area Business Group strategic planning and plan implementation.
  • Support Area Business Group activities related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining key staff.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years' experience.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the local market.
  • Knowledge of HDR business process
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Ability to workcooperatively with area manager, business group managers, and business development lead, as well as regional business group directors and national business group leaders and professional services director.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
