Sr. Director, Commercial Strategy & Initiatives

*This is a remote opportunity with up to 25% travel as needed.

Why This Role Matters:

The Senior Director, Commercial Strategy & Initiatives, leads the enterprise commercial strategy function, reporting to the SVP, Sales Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for developing and stewarding commercial strategies, in partnership with cross-functional teams, to advance sales growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and drive commercial excellence across channels and customers.

This position partners closely with Marketing, Sales Planning, Sales Leadership, and Supply Chain to translate corporate strategic priorities into executable commercial strategies that provide a strategic roadmap for multi-year growth. Serving as an agent of change, the Senior Director embodies a growth-mindset, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen the organization's commercial strategy capability.

What You'll Do:



  • Develop the commercial growth strategy aligned with corporate and brand goals
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales Leadership, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives
  • Lead channel strategy aligned to brand and category priorities, identifying whitespace and growth opportunities
  • Shape go-to-market models and customer segmentation strategy
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure activation plans reflect customer realities
  • Lead commercial business and transformation initiatives (tools, processes, planning systems)
  • Establish and track KPIs for strategic commercial initiatives, identifying and stewarding wins and areas of opportunity
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the SVP, Sales COE and executive leadership team
  • Foster collaboration and communication cross-functionally to support strategy adoption and cross-functional alignment
  • Identify pipeline of new commercial capabilities


What You'll Bring:

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.


Experience



  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in sales strategy, commercial planning, category development, and/or related commercial roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing commercial strategies that drive sustainable sales and profit growth.
  • Strong understanding of customer, channel, and shopper dynamics with the ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategy and planning initiatives within a consumer goods or retail environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-level teams and influencing at the executive level.
  • Experience leading organizational change and process transformation initiatives.
