About Our Unit

Welcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical Unit, serving both adult and occasional pediatric patients. While our primary focus is on adults aged 18 and older, we also provide care for approximately 1-2 pediatric patients per month.

Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of medical and post-operative cases, such as:

  • Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders

  • General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections

  • Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax

We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program

  • Active RN license (state-specific or compact)

  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements

Certifications Required:

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • BLS - Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)

  • Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs

  • Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift

  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
