To succeed as a Financial Analyst – Hydrocarbon Accounting, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Power BI and OAS preferred.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with a hands-on mentality, customer focus, and willingness to support the team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

As a Financial Analyst – Hydrocarbon Accounting, you will:

  • Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Process and reconcile hydrocarbon transactions for crude and product purchases and sales, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
  • Support accounts payable/receivable, invoice validation, vendor management, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, maintain internal controls, and implement process improvements in accounting and settlements.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas that operates across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd-party chemical facilities, enabling further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
