About The Job:

The Mobile Sweeper Driver is responsible for efficiently operating mobile sweeping equipment to clean and maintain the cleanliness of streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. This role involves maneuvering of sweeper vehicles effectively, conducting routine maintenance checks, and ensuring the proper disposal of collected waste. The Mobile Sweeper Driver plays a key role in enhancing the overall appearance of public and private spaces, contributing to a clean and safe environment

What You'll Do:

1. Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate mobile sweeping equipment to sweep and remove debris, litter, and dirt from various paved surfaces.
  • Maneuver the sweeper vehicle effectively to ensure thorough and efficient cleaning.

2. Inspection and Maintenance

  • Perform thorough pre and post operation checks of the equipment to identify safety or mechanical defects.
  • Report any maintenance needs or equipment issues to the maintenance department.

3. Safety, Health and Environmental Compliance

  • Adhere to safety best practices, protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety measures among the drilling team.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, equipment, and personnel to prevent accidents or hazards.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation at all times and in accordance with environmental, MSHA and DOT regulations as well as Vulcan standards.
  • Follow environmental regulations related to drilling operations and implement measures to minimize environmental impact.

4. Route Planning

  • Plan sweeping routes to cover designated areas efficiently and prioritize high-traffic or critical locations.

5. Communication

  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning schedules, issues, or special requirements.

6. Documentation

  • Keep accurate records of cleaning activities, maintenance tasks, and any incidents during operations.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education: H.S. Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience operating mobile sweepers or similar equipment is preferred.

Certifications/Licenses: A valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong commitment to safety protocols and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
    • Proficient in driving and maneuvering large vehicles.
    • Strong sense of spatial awareness to maneuver the sweeper in tight spaces, around obstacles, and in congested work areas.
    • Ability to adapt to changing schedules, cleaning requirements, and environmental conditions.
    • Familiarity with equipment controls and operation techniques
    • Mechanical aptitude to complete a thorough safety and mechanical inspection
    • Good communication skills to effectively interact and coordinate with team members and supervisors
    • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing work environments.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with sweeping, including lifting and pushing equipment.

Communication Skills: Clear communication with team members, geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders. Effective reporting of drilling progress, issues, and findings.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing work conditions, tasks, and schedules.
