Position Overview:

The Director Sales - Distribution will be accountable for developing the strategy and execution plans to maximize our revenue growth through key distributor partners in our PES (Power Efficiency Solutions) Segment. Responsible for leading and driving sales growth of our broad line of electric motors, blowers, pumps, control systems and power transmission products with strategic distributors in North America. This key leadership role will have direct responsibility for our key distributor team and maintaining strong working relationships with C-Suite and Field Leadership teams within this Distributor network. The successful candidate will know how to translate strategy into execution and will be able to collaborate effectively across a diverse set of stakeholders including executives, individual contributors, customers, employees, and partners.

PES is one of three operating segments with approximately $1.7 Billion in revenue and produces electric motors, variable speed controls, and air moving solutions which are sold in the residential heating and ventilating, water heating, commercial refrigeration, pump, leisure water, and other OEM and aftermarket products. Brands include Genteq motors, as well as Fasco, Elco, DEC Star, Leeson, motor and blowers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs National Account Managers who interface daily with:
    • Industrial & Electrical Distributors / Channel Partners
    • Industry Trade Organizations
  • Effectively collaborates with Regional Sales Directors, District Sales Managers, Account Managers, and the Marketing Team.
  • Sets short and long-term sales strategies and evaluates effectiveness of current sales deployment to drive market share growth with distribution
  • Create and drive a vision that ensures ongoing sense of focus, direction and urgency throughout the distribution sales team
  • Provides VOC input to Business Unit Leadership
  • Executes Business Unit Strategic Plans
  • Performance management, performance evaluation and coaching of the team. Utilize Regal Rexnord talent review tools to assess team talent and potential
  • Collaborates on developing and negotiating annual growth incentive programs
  • Maintain C-level relationships at key distributor accounts
  • Coaches, trains, and develops a group of distribution focused sellers to overdrive quota
  • Trade Organization participation and leadership
  • Drives National Distribution Penetration via sound channel strategy, marketing program positioning, and sales execution

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Technical or related field or 15+ years relevant experience
  • 10+ years industry sales leadership and success - especially distribution sales and channel strategy
  • Experience leading a team with direct reports
  • Experience in balancing internal and external demands and responsibilities in a matrix environment
  • Experience building and converting a CRM opportunity funnel
  • Strong customer orientation with ability to build executive level relationships
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills - Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of profitable growth
  • Existing relationships with stakeholders at key distributor partners
  • OEM and Distribution sales experience
  • Experience with PT, Leisure Water, or HVAC/R industries selling to Distribution accounts
  • Use of Power BI
  • Experience working with 80/20, Policy Deployment methodologies
  • Experience with CRM and forecasting tools

Expected Base Salary Range: $145K - $175K + Incentives
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base paycompensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, includingbut not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location,candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.

Travel: 50%+

Location: Remote US role - preferred location near major airport hub
