THE POSITION


Washington County's Information Technology Services Department is seeking an Enterprise Applications Supervisor to join the Enterprise Systems Division team! In this pivotal role, you will lead a talented and experienced Application Support and Engineering Team, guiding them in their daily operations, system implementations, and future planning. Your hands-on approach will empower the team, drawing on your leadership experience and technical expertise to inspire excellence.

The Opportunity
This role involves supervising the Application and Solutions Engineering team, which consists of technical professionals responsible for a mix of in-house developed solutions and supporting third-party server and cloud-based applications used at Washington County. Technical expertise in relational databases, software development, troubleshooting, process improvement, modernization, system administration, and major projects are all key components of the daily responsibilities of this role, in addition to overseeing personnel and engaging in long-term strategic planning.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position is a technology leader with strong skills in managing a diverse application support program, which includes both third-party and internally developed applications. This individual should possess exceptional technical expertise in a Microsoft environment and demonstrate the leadership abilities necessary to oversee and guide technical professionals. Effective communication with all levels of stakeholders, from end users to executives, is essential. Additionally, proficiency in change management, teamwork, collaboration, and transparency is critical for success in this role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of nine (9) years of experience in information technology analysis and support, including two (2) years in a supervisory, lead, or technical leadership capacity. Leadership of technology projects, software or hardware implementations, or demonstrated technical leadership may be considered in lieu of direct supervisory experience; OR
  • An associate degree in computer science, business administration, or related field; AND seven (7) years of experience in information technology analysis and support, including two (2) years in a supervisory, lead, or technical leadership capacity. Leadership of technology projects, software or hardware implementations, or demonstrated technical leadership may be considered in lieu of direct supervisory experience; OR
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or related field; AND five (5) years of experience in information technology analysis and support, including two (2) years in a supervisory, lead, or technical leadership capacity. Leadership of technology projects, software or hardware implementations, or demonstrated technical leadership may be considered in lieu of direct supervisory experience.

  • Incumbent is required to participate in an extensive background check post-offer.

  7. Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
