Position Summary: The Website Specialist is responsible for overseeing the creation and maintenance of content on the Boston Children's Hospital Trust website. This role manages content update requests, supports the creation of our peer-to-peer fundraising sites, and ensures new content is in alignment with industry best practices. They will work closely with the communications team, technical team, and vendors to create content, monitor and maintain performance, and optimize the experience for the best possible donor and donor prospect journeys. This person will report to the Director, Donor Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation and management of website content across our primary site and our peer-to-peer fundraising sites created in TeamRaiser
- Collaborate across the Communications team and with the wider Trust to develop content that supports organizational objectives while keeping the donor journey at the center
- Provide quality control and ongoing optimization
- Manage a website promotional calendar and/or manage the website portion of an over-arching promotional calendar for both the Trust site and Hospital website
- Manage various tracking documentation including website marketing URLs and redirects, needed website content updates, features backlog, and other documents as needed
- Support website improvement including identifying updates to existing pages and features, sharing ideas for new elements, and ensuring our donor journey is optimized
- Partner with the Hospital Marketing and Communications web team to optimize the journey between the sites, driving improved revenue and event participation from visitors coming from the BCH site
- Contribute to website reporting, collaborating with technology team to be sure all tagging/tracking is in place and to enable robust and accurate website reporting; collaborate closely with the channel specialist on bringing website reporting into multi-channel dashboards
Education/Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in website development or digital marketing; 1+ years managing website content for an enterprise is required.
Experience:
- Content management expertise
- Deep knowledge about content management systems like Drupal
- Familiarity with Peer-to-Peer fundraising products (Blackbaud product experience preferred).
- Familiarity with website analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics preferred)
- Strong grounding in best practices for websites including user experience, donor (customer) journeys, and SEO.
- Experience with using Smartsheets and/or project management software to track deliverables, deadlines, and other milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to manage website content and work with developers.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills
- Eager to learn mindset
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with other staff
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
