Recovery Support Specialist

The Recovery Support Specialist is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team who uses their lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide hope, guidance, and practical support to individuals receiving outpatient services. This role emphasizes peer-to-peer engagement, advocacy, and skill-building to help clients navigate their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with clients by sharing personal recovery experiences in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Assist clients in identifying strengths, setting goals, and developing individualized recovery plans.
  • Provide education and coaching on coping strategies, wellness tools, and community resources.
  • Support clients in accessing housing, employment, healthcare, and other social determinants of health.
  • Facilitate peer support groups and recovery-oriented activities.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and other team members to ensure integrated care.
  • Document services in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and willingness to share your story.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of state-approved Peer Support Specialist training within 90 days

Ability to obtain certification as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) within 12 months

Salary:

* High School Degree or GED: $18.00-$22.00/hour

* Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS): $23.00-$25.00/hour
