Our top financial client based in NYC is seeking a top-notch Editorial Designer to join their team!

The Editorial / Layout Designer plays a pivotal role in shaping high-profile marketing materials-primarily pitch decks, fact cards, and other presentation-driven deliverables. This designer combines strategic thinking with exceptional visual execution, using layout, hierarchy, and typographic systems to distill complex or technical ideas into elegant, easy-to consume visual narratives. The ideal candidate demonstrates mastery of grid-based design, strong familiarity with design systems, and a refined sense for visual storytelling in corporate and investor-facing contexts and will work closely with the head of Presentation Design and the Global Head of Design.

What You'll Do:

* Support ongoing development of visual systems, templates, and best practices that enhance quality, speed, and scalability of design output.

* Explore and introduce AI tools and processes that increase efficiency and support creative ideation across layout, visualization, and content workflows.

* Design and produce marketing materials, including pitch decks, fact cards, and presentation templates, with a focus on clarity, visual balance, and brand consistency.

* Apply grid-based layouts and design systems to create clean, modular compositions that scale across multiple formats and audiences.

* Translate abstract or technical information into structured, high-impact visual stories- highlighting key insights while reducing visual noise.

* Develop and refine charting and information design to visually communicate complex data with precision and impact.

* Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and investment teams to understand objectives and deliver compelling, audience-centric visual solutions.

* Ensure all materials align with brand and editorial guidelines, maintaining consistency across Adobe, Microsoft, and Figma environments.

* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working efficiently under tight timelines while upholding a high standard of precision and craft.

* Engage in iterative feedback cycles, proactively offering and integrating input to refine creative direction.

* Develop and educate Presentation team to elevate design capabilities to the global team.

What You'll Bring:

* 5+ years of experience in editorial, layout, and presentation design, preferably within marketing, finance, or communications.

* Proven expertise in grid-based composition, typographic hierarchy, and visual information design including use of modular and repeatable layouts.

* Familiarity with design systems and the ability to maintain consistency across multiple touchpoints and applications.

* Strong conceptual and strategic thinking-able to transform dense, analytical content into visually coherent stories.

* Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Figma, and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

* Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of visual refinement.

* Demonstrated portfolio showcasing editorial or presentation work that balances aesthetic sophistication with clarity of message.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to discuss and defend design rationale to both design and non-design audiences of all levels.

* Experience developing or maintaining brand and design systems.

* Proven experience in charting, data visualization, and information design.

* Interest and experience in introducing AI tools into creative workflows.

* Exposure to corporate, finance, or professional services environments.

* Working knowledge of accessibility and readability principles for digital and print materials.
