Metro Boston PDC Manager

General Summary:

The Metro Boston Professional Development Center (PDC) Manager will provide leadership and oversight for all operations of the Metro Boston PDC at Early Education Leaders, an Institute at UMass Boston. This role includes responsibility for the coordination and delivery of high-quality professional development and coaching services, maintaining excellence in program implementation, and ensuring clear communication with the field regarding available offerings in the Metro Boston region. The PDC Manager will also oversee data collection and reporting related to grant funded activities. Additionally, the Manager will serve as the thought partner and liaison in managing the partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, ensuring alignment with state priorities and compliance with contractual requirements.

Examples of Duties:

• Supervise Metro Boston PDC staff
• Maintains and develops a positive, communicative, collaborative relationship with the funder
• Oversee all aspects of service delivery and the monitoring and reporting of services
• Review, monitor, and ensure the high quality of trainings and professional development services offered by the Metro Boston PDC; lead the development of new professional development content collaboratively with the Institute's curriculum and content development staff and in accordance with institute's protocols for content and services development and approval
• Devise and implement a public relations and marketing strategy to publicize program offerings to community members and regional organizations while overseeing the planning of professional development services and events, including coordinating space, purchasing supplies, conducting marketing and outreach, and coordinating electronic registration
• Work with the MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) to establish a complete quarterly and annual calendar of required and priority trainings and services
• Ensure that all professional development services offered by the PDC are in alignment with EEC priorities, standards.
• Develop and implement regional needs assessment protocols; Produce customized, on-demand reports that focus on needs assessment data. Ensure PDC staff use them to make decisions about regional training and technical assistance delivery.
• Work collaboratively with EEC, and professional development partners across the state, to ensure coordination of services statewide and adjust Metro Boston PDC services accordingly
• Monitor and report on all grant services, ensure that program deliverables are met with high quality and in a timely manner, supervise program staff, and attend all meetings on behalf of the PDC with EEC, EEC Regional Office, and other partners
• Work with institute leadership and other initiatives to develop content for professional development and coaching
• Assist Chief Financial Officer with fiscal administration for Metro Boston PDC as needed
• Implement an effective governance and administrative structure for the PDC, develop partnerships, and expand outreach, and ensure that subcontractors adhere to the grant requirements

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Early Education and Care or adjacent field Post master's certificate/Advanced graduate education in Early Childhood Education and Care and five to seven (5-7) years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Previous supervision experience required.

This is an exempt union position. This is a grant funded position with a current end date of June 30, 2026, subject to renewal contingent on funding and university needs.
