Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and assist with the pre-construction schedule.
  • Contribute to the pre-bid process as needed.
  • Manage and schedule technician Client across assigned locations.
  • Administer union contracts related to layoffs and recalls.
  • Oversee daily timecard reporting from leads or foremen, ensuring timely submission.
  • Follow up on late timecard reports to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Hold team members accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of Direct Line fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers on workforce scheduling, budget hours, and materials staging.
  • Conduct regular site visits:

    • Daily for projects within a 2-hour drive from the office.
    • Bi-weekly for projects within a 5-hour drive.
    • Monthly for projects beyond a 5-hour drive.


  • Stay informed about the full project scope and communicate work order changes to the project manager.
  • Ensure all personnel understand and comply with job safety requirements.
  • Promote a Zero Injury safety culture and support leads in conducting on-site safety meetings.
  • Review and communicate the safety program and MSDS information during project start-up meetings.
  • Identify and address safety hazards on job sites, reporting incidents to the VP of Operations, PM, and safety personnel.
  • Review construction plans and specifications, advising the team on constructability and scheduling concerns.
  • Understand and apply project specifications, scope of work, and drawings.
  • Assist project managers with estimating, quantity takeoffs, and pricing.
  • Mentor and train employees to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Oversee post-project activities, including testing, documentation, and final reporting.
  • Ensure proper storage and completion of test results and "as-built" documentation.
  • Manage and complete all paperwork related to the Field Career Progression program.
  • Participate in project scheduling, forecasting Client needs, and identifying future project opportunities.
  • Communicate project goals and expectations to field personnel.
  • Maintain strong client and project team relationships.
  • Support Direct Line University in developing and implementing training programs.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a related role.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record and client site access requirements.
  • Experience with construction management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus, especially for scheduling, spreadsheets, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of building plans, specifications, and construction systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Deep knowledge of legal regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and lead teams.
  • Strong client relationship management and team motivation abilities.
  • Ability to handle pressure, manage time efficiently, and make logical decisions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across multiple sites.
  • Commitment to quality and safety with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
