Position Highlights

The Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies at the University of Arizona is seeking a Limited Term Adjunct Instructor to teach SERP 503: Special Services in the Schools during the Spring 2026 semester. This is a non-tenure track Limited Term Adjunct position. SERP 503 is a course designed to prepare educators and school personnel to understand and implement special education services guided by IDEA, Section 504, and related federal laws and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach SERP
    503: Special Services in the Schools.
  • Plan and
    organize instructional modules and weekly learning activities.
  • Facilitate
    class discussions and monitor student participation.
  • Provide
    clear feedback and evaluate assignments, quizzes, and projects.
  • Support
    students in developing skills in IEP development, transition planning, and
    collaboration.
  • Maintain
    communication with department leadership as needed.
  • Other instructional
    duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Special Education or a closely
    related field.
  • Experience working in K-12 special education
    (e.g., teacher, coordinator, administrator).
  • Experience writing or implementing IEPs and/or
    transition plans.
  • Experience teaching, training, or mentoring
    adults or pre-service educators.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching courses at the college level.
  • Experience supporting collaborative or interdisciplinary special education teams.
