Joining Ramboll

As our new Project Scheduler, you will support our industrial engineering, EPC and EPCM projects. The candidate would ideally be located locally to our Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Syracuse, NY, Tampa, FL, or Houston, TX offices. This position will work within our Project Resources Team to support engineers, project managers, construction managers, and other project team members. Work will include development and maintenance of schedules and other documents/tools necessary to support effective execution of design and construction of our project portfolio. The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently, have the willingness to learn and grow at a fast pace, and desire to work in the industrial engineering and construction fields.

Job DescriptionQualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, plus 10 years of relevant experience; or
  • Associate degree in Applied Science plus 12 years of experience.
  • Construction Management and Engineering experience preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Expert/Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Earned Value Assessments, Resource Loading, and Cost Loading.
  • Ability to create, update, and review detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project timelines, milestone schedules, and deliverable deadlines.
  • Ability to perform schedule analysis, including critical path analysis and identification of key project phases.
  • Experience with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) generation and facilitation.
  • Familiarity with Last Planner Methodology or similar planning/sequencing processes.

Project Management & Leadership

  • Ability to host/facilitate schedule and planning meetings, gather requirements, and implement into schedules.
  • Lead scheduling efforts on projects where multiple schedulers are required.
  • Develop and implement Scheduling Execution Strategies (SES) and Basis of Schedule (BOS) deliverables.
  • Execute, monitor, and control project scheduling processes and procedures.
  • Facilitate and support the development of planning and sequencing documentation for incorporation into project schedules.
  • Regularly update project schedules to reflect progress and changes; assess impact of changes on timelines and budgets.
  • Identify scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies; conduct risk assessments and incorporate risk management plans into schedules.
  • Generate regular status reports and provide updates to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare dashboard reports and visual presentations to communicate project status and performance metrics.
  • Implement structured change management processes for schedule updates and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling documentation, including baseline schedules, progress updates, and change logs.
  • Ensure all scheduling data is properly organized and accessible for audit and review purposes.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as an internal and external client interface for schedule implementation and updates.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Officers, engineers, and other stakeholders for progress and earned value updates.
  • Establish relationships with external project team members such as subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assist in the management of large, complex, and at-risk engineering and construction projects.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scheduling training for other schedulers, engineers, and project managers.
  • Create and maintain tools to assist scheduling functions.
  • Maintain and manage multiple schedules across a variety of projects.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) by Project Management Institute (PMI), Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) by AACE International, ProjectManagement Professional (PMP) by PMI, or similar scheduling certification preferred.
