Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Maritime Engineer-Journeyman. As a Journeyman Engineer, you will play an integral role in supporting the design, evaluation, and development of shipboard systems and related engineering projects. Working closely with seasoned marine professionals, you'll review technical data packages, assess constructability, and ensure all designs align with naval engineering standards and operational requirements. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in mechanical, marine, or naval architecture disciplines to solve complex challenges, enhance system performance, and contribute to the reliability and safety of maritime operations. Responsibilies



  • Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, and help resolve technical issues.
  • Review technical data packages for adherence to engineering standards.
  • Design and prepare engineering reports and related documentation.
  • Devise charts and graphs to record results.
  • Review engineering and technical referrals in accordance with established processes.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of quality control/assurance systems.
  • Review, validate, and develop technical data, technical manuals, and provisioning packages.
  • Review performance data and develop Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) models.
  • Perform a variety of complicated engineering-related tasks.
  • May lead and direct the work of more junior contractor employees.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture from an ABET-accredited university or college.
  • Three to five years of experience in the engineering field of competence is required.
  • Six years of work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. An associate's degree plus four years of work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience involving the development or review of Major Ship System Specifications, CDRLs, SOWs, the development and review of ship feasibility, concept, preliminary, contract, and detail design of shipboard auxiliary systems.
  • Documented three to five years of experience primarily involving designing, evaluating, constructing, commissioning, decommissioning, operating, and maintaining auxiliary systems, ideally in the maritime industry.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is desired.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Work Location

On-Site - four (4) days+ a week St. Elizabeth's DHS Campus, Washington, DC, with possible hybrid telework upon approval.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
