Join Henry Ford Health Warren Inpatient Pharmacy Team as a Pharmacy Supervisor.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Location: Warren, Inpatient Pharmacy

Schedule: Monday- Friday. Mostly day shift, may include afternoons or weekends based on department needs.

Supervises the daily activities of the pharmacy staff. May perform the duties of a pharmacist.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSBILTIES:

  • Preparing and administering the pharmacist work schedule as well as processing trades, requests, staffing shortage situations, etc.
  • Reviewing and approving the pharmacy technician schedule as well as processing trades, requests, staffing shortages, etc.
  • Maintaining pharmacy department staffing based upon workload and upon productivity metrics.
  • Processing payroll and resolving any payroll related discrepancies.
  • Training, coaching and evaluating associates on performance expectations and applying progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Participating in hiring and termination procedures within span of control.
  • Participates in internal hospital committees as required (e.g. Compounding Surveillance Committee) and external committees (e.g. Region 2 North committee) as assigned.
  • Oversees and performs competency assessments for pharmacy staff in areas related to USP 797 and USP 800.
  • Oversees the completion of nursing unit inspections within the hospital and at the affiliated clinics.
  • Oversees EMS, Crash Cart, and Floor Stock processes.
  • Participates in policy/procedure development and adherence to all regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy; residency in hospital pharmacy strongly preferred.
  • Inpatient Pharmacy experience preferred.
  • 1 year of experience required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan. If eligible, licensure must be obtained within 30 days of hire; failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of the Pharmacist position.
