Role Snapshot

Our Business Analyst (BA) functions as the crosswalk between business needs and technical execution. This BA accountable to take the lead in the early stages of a given project to gather, analyze, and translate the needs of the business into requirements for the technical solution. Throughout this process, this Business Analyst is responsible for fulfilling a role within a bi-weekly scrum team to keep tabs on project progress and escalate blockers. Working under general guidance, this analyst collaborates across team leads to ensure timely and measurable results, ensures priorities are clear and progress is transparent and measurable.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $90,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

We are open to remote work in the following approved states:
Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin

**Employees that live within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to work 2 days on-site a week.

  • Have partnered with stakeholders to capture business needs, clarify expectations, and document requirements for processes, projects, or service improvements, ensuring they can be delivered in incremental stages.
  • Enjoy supporting planning sessions, daily or weekly check-ins, and iterative work cycles; assist in tracking incremental progress toward overall objectives.
  • Can act as a central point of contact to ensure clear and consistent communication, sharing information, between departments and work groups, enabling smooth handoffs and continuous feedback loops.
  • Would like to keep project boards, trackers, and status reports current, supporting visibility into ongoing work and upcoming deliverables.
  • Have mapped current and future workflows, identified bottlenecks, and suggested adjustments that can be tested and refined in short iterations.
  • Enjoy tracking milestones, assessing progress against smaller deliverables, and escalating risks early to maintain momentum.
  • Can gather feedback at key checkpoints, assist in preparing training or rollout materials, and ensure changes are understood and embraced by end users.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • Experience conducting requirements gathering and producing documentation to capture and organize business needs into clear, actionable items.


Other BA experience includes:



  • Experience documenting workflows and identifying opportunities for incremental improvements.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, iterative work cycles, and incremental value delivery.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to effectively engage stakeholders and maintain progress
  • Solid organization and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage priorities and deadlines within short delivery cycles.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with productivity and project tracking tools.


Preferred Qualifications



  • 3 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • Certifications: AgileBA, ICAgile Certified BA, BABOK, or ICP-BAF.
  • Experience with Agile metrics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Jira/ADO dashboards).
  • Understanding of healthcare claims processing and eligibility.
