A Waste Coordinator at SET Environmental is responsible for:



  • Preparing shipments to SET and other established waste vendors
  • Being the point of contact person if there are compliance related issues regarding wastes
  • Housekeeping in 90-day waste storage area, which includes required inspections and quality control of outgoing loads prior to leaving the site
  • Ensuring the load is acceptable per DOT regulations and requirements
  • Tracking the material once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received
  • Performing weekly visual inspections of items such as satellite accumulation areas, perform sampling, and maintain waste management supplies
  • To be a subject matter expert in all areas in concerning waste management
  • Interacting with different multi-chem divisions daily via phone, email, and in meetings
  • Meet at least weekly with designated stakeholder(s) to discuss the program status, upcoming shipments, compliance issues, and/or any potential problem areas
  • Provide ideas and recommendations concerning waste minimization, elimination, and by-product reuse/recycling during update meetings. Project tracking, status reports, and documentation of hazardous waste reduction, landfill avoidance, and cost reductions to-date and projected are also required for these meetings
  • Performing other miscellaneous duties as necessary



POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor' Degree in environmental studies or related field preferred
  • Must have 2+ years of practical field experience including hazardous waste handling, lab packing, chemical consolidation, manifesting, and scheduling rental containers
  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven self-starter and highly motivated
  • Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40-hour HAZWOPER training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use)
  • Must have knowledge of all RCRA and DOT regulations
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
