The Department of Chemistry at Columbia University is inviting applications for a Lecturer in Discipline to start January 1, 2026. Responsibilities will include the teaching and coordinating of Chemistry Laboratory courses and associated Lab Lectures, as well as the supervision, pedagogical training and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants assigned to these classes. For the first 1.5 years of the appointment, the incumbent will be expected to focus on General Chemistry Laboratory, and to prepare to teach laboratory courses in Physical and Organic Chemistry in future semesters. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the culture and evolution of the undergraduate program in chemistry, particularly as this relates to the Chemistry Laboratory offerings. This is a full-time position, renewable for up to to 3.5 years total, contingent upon usual standards for satisfactory performance.

An MA is required at the time of appointment, PhD preferred.
