Position Summary / Department Overview:
The Senior Productivity Analyst serves as the analytical lead and strategist for Boston Children's Hospital's Laborlytics platform -a key system that provides insights into labor resources and management practices across the organization. This role partners clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to evaluate productivity, enhance efficiency, and ensure optimal staffing levels to support high-quality patient care.
The Senior Analyst works closely with departments to interpret data, design reports, and develop actionable insights that improve labor performance, financial outcomes, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with department administrators and clinician leaders to evaluate staffing levels, services, and productivity in alignment with department goals.
  • Maintain and support the Labor Productivity Management System (LPMS), ensuring accurate measurement, assessment, benchmarking, and reporting of labor data.
  • Calculate, monitor, and defend department or service productivity targets, and facilitate approval for changes to units of service or targets.
  • Design, produce, and present executive-level reports and dashboards on labor productivity metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to maintain system functionality and resolve issues.
  • Support ad-hoc projects focused on improving operational and financial performance across the hospital.
  • Analyze data from multiple systems (Epic, Kronos, UKG, etc.) to support decision-making and respond to requests from leadership.
  • Partner with departments to develop and monitor action plans for improvement based on productivity data and benchmarks.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices related to labor productivity.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships across teams to promote a positive and solution-focused environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in business planning, financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and strong database management skills.
  • Experience with productivity measurement systems or data tools preferred (e.g., Laborlytics, Epic, Kronos, UKG).

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with the capacity to interpret complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of business and financial operations within a large organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
