The Office of Sustainability seeks a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Campus Sustainability Fund Coordinator to support the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) and broader coalition development. The Campus Sustainability Fund awards over $250,000 each academic year to support the development and implementation of campus-wide projects that meaningfully advance the university's sustainability and climate goals. Under the direction of the Office of Sustainability's Sustainability Program Manager, the Coordinator assists with all aspects of the Fund's operations, including grant facilitation, communications, reporting, and student supervision. This role also contributes to broader Office of Sustainability initiatives through coalition building and institutional reporting that advance the university's long-term sustainability goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program Support & Reporting

  • Support the administration, logistics, and daily operations of the Campus Sustainability Fund under the supervision of the Sustainability Program Manager.
  • Assist in the solicitation, evaluation, and selection of project proposals that meaningfully advance campus sustainability and community well-being.
  • Lead applicants and awardees in navigating university procedures, budgeting, and project implementation requirements.
  • Track project progress, collect and review progress reports, and verify reported outcomes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain documentation of all project data, financial records, and performance metrics.
  • Assist with preparing summaries, dashboards, and visual reports for internal and public communication.
  • Support evaluation and continuous improvement of CSF processes and tools to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Communications & Outreach

  • Support development of communication and marketing strategies for the CSF and related Office of Sustainability initiatives and coordinate with the Sustainability Outreach Coordinator and the Central Outreach/Communications Team on implementation.
  • Execute communications strategies developed in partnership with the Sustainability Program Manager and Sustainability Outreach Coordinator to increase program visibility and campus engagement.
  • Draft and edit content for newsletters, webpages, press releases, and social media to highlight CSF projects, impact stories, and funding opportunities.
  • Capture and produce high-quality photos and videos of CSF-funded projects, events, and awardees to support storytelling, outreach campaigns, and annual reporting.
  • Support CSF web content updates and support graphic design or multimedia needs using established branding and templates.
  • Assist with storytelling efforts and impact reporting that highlight project outcomes, university achievements, and donor contributions.
  • Coordinate with the Sustainability Program Manager to evaluate communication effectiveness and adjust strategies to optimize visibility, engagement, and understanding of the program's impact.
  • Support development of the CSF Annual Summary, compiling data, project highlights, and visuals that communicate program impact.
  • Coordinate with the Sustainability Outreach Coordinator in conducting outreach presentations and organizing tabling events to promote the CSF to the campus community.

Student Employee Supervision

  • Plan, delegate, and supervise the day-to-day duties of five to eight student employees, in collaboration with the Sustainability Program Manager, and provide ongoing training and mentorship to build necessary skills.
  • Support student employee supervision, elevating probation, and termination-level performance improvement to supervisor.
  • Conduct a bi-weekly review of student employees' work and approve time worked in UAccess.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of program student employees. Conduct annual student employee evaluations.

Cross-Unit Collaboration, Coalition Building, & Partnership Support

  • Support cross-unit collaboration on sustainability initiatives by assisting the Sustainability Program Manager and other team members in coordinating activities, meetings, and communication across academic, operational, and administrative areas.
  • Help organize and document coalition or working-group activities that involve students, staff, faculty, and external stakeholders advancing the university's Sustainability and Climate Action Plan goals.
  • Assist with coordinating logistics for outreach events, workshops, and partnership meetings to strengthen connections across university units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles, climate action, and community engagement.
  • Skill in photography and videography, including capturing, editing, and organizing visual content for outreach and storytelling.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education institution.
