Your Role on the Team This hybrid position is responsible for the overall executive management of a broad range of administrative and financial operations for the Office of Research Coordinating Point. Participates with other higher-level managers to establish strategic objectives and to implement plans and programs to further the development of campus research programs and has the responsibility for coordinating operations and resources to achieve the Office of Research goals. Makes decisions on operational matters and ensures achievement of objectives for the Office of Research Coordinating Point with a direct impact on financial and human resource planning, the annual budget process, and general oversight for the management and implementation of a broad range of operations, business processes and administrative services for the Office of Research Coordinating Point. The functions include strategic (short and long term) planning, budget and resource planning and oversight, human resources, academic personnel management and oversight, space, facilities, IT, and equipment planning and oversight. Reviews and approves recommendations for operational planning and control. Erroneous decisions will have serious impact on the overall success of the Office of Research Coordinating Point and the campus research enterprise. Represents the Office of Research on campus strategic committees and is responsible for coordinating point policy implementation and administration for a diverse set of internal central administrative units, recharge centers, remote research facilities, and for new and existing multi-disciplinary and transdisciplinary research organizations. Responsible for executive level strategic development to enable UCI participation in initiatives and funding opportunities related to UC system wide and multi-campus opportunities.
