Qualifications EDUCATION EDUCATION (number of years and type required to perform the position duties): Associates Degree, Baccalaureate Degree preferred. Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound program. At least two years of specialized training in targeted Level II Perinatal, invasive procedure scanning, (intrauterine procedures including (CVS, amniocentesis, IUTs, multifetal reduction) and fetal echo ultrasound imaging required. RDMS and CPR certification required. EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCE (number of years and type required to meet an acceptable level of performance): Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in Perinatal Diagnostic Ultrasound including in depth experience in targeted Level II Perinatal, invasive procedure scanning, (intrauterine procedures including CVS, amniocentesis, PUBs etc) and fetal echo ultrasound imaging required. Knowledge of and experience with computerized documentation systems required. Prior experience and participation in research and grant-funded activities required. LICENSURE LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: RDMS, OB Certified, Nuchal Certified, Fetal Echo Certified SPECIAL SKILLS SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent theoretical knowledge of anatomy, pathology and demonstrated proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment. Must be proficient and accurate in obtaining sonographic images and in discriminating images selected for interpretation. Must possess outstanding communication and organizational skills. Required to interact with patients and families to provide information about the content of the sonogram, as it is being conducted. Must possess excellent technical skills in the guidance of invasive procedures including CVS, IUTs, Amniocentesis, etc). Must be able to work accurately, independently and efficiently in order to complete a minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) scans per day.
