Purpose of the Role

The Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Lead plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic implementation of AWP processes to optimize project performance across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. This position supports Worley's global mission of delivering sustainable change by integrating structured work packaging systems that enhance collaboration, predictability, and safety across all project disciplines. The AWP Lead ensures alignment between project execution plans and Worley's broader ambition to create data-driven, sustainable solutions for energy, chemicals, and resource projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement AWP strategies that align with Worley's project execution methodologies and sustainability objectives.

  • Collaborate with project management to define Construction Work Areas (CWAs) and develop Construction Work Packages (CWPs) to support efficient construction sequencing and execution.

  • Partner with engineering and procurement teams to establish detailed Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) and Procurement Work Packages (PWPs), ensuring they are strategically prioritized for project success.

  • Support the creation, review, and execution of Field Installed Work Packages (FIWPs) during the detailed engineering phase, promoting seamless transition into field activities.

  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely issuance of FIWPs, allowing sufficient lead time for material allocation and installation planning.

  • Facilitate integrated planning across engineering, procurement, construction, and material management functions to maintain clear communication and alignment throughout all project phases.

  • Track and analyze progress of work package execution to identify opportunities for process optimization, schedule improvement, and risk mitigation.

  • Collaborate with site leadership to compile and submit information required for negotiated work, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with project standards.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by embedding safety considerations within all stages of planning and execution.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
