What to Expect
CAD Technical Program Managers/Engineers on the Battery Pack Design Engineering team drive top-level battery 3D & 2D assemblies & documentation to enable seamless development & production of all Tesla vehicle high voltage batteries (HVB). Our team owns top-level HVB assembly documentation, creates complex CAD assemblies of hundreds of parts, develops comprehensive technical assembly drawings to communicate with global supply chains and factories, owns accurate bills of materials across multiple product configurations, and executes change management with teams across the company. This role will support the Optimus battery program along other responsibilities. This role requires a highly organized mind set and skill/experience managing large and complex assemblies. Optimus is a novel product iterating fast and forging new ground, so this role requires you to be able to pull people together and align objectives in the face of uncertainty or ambiguity, strong CAD fundamentals, and a passion to launch new technologies. You will be the point of contact for HV battery content - so you must be a strong communicator who is comfortable working across multiple teams, you will also be the owner of complex assemblies and documentation - so you must be detail oriented with a high standard for quality of work. Tesla moves quickly, so being self-motivated and disciplined is critical. You must be passionate, but direction changes frequently, so you must also be resilient.
