Core Responsibilities:

Programming & Technical Execution



  • Provide offline CNC programming using Siemens NX for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling, turning, and mill-turn equipment.
  • Support the development, optimization, and validation of toolpaths, setup sheets, and cutting strategies for complex aerospace components.
  • Verify programs using Vericut and Vericut Force to ensure machine safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with post-processor vendors (including CGTech and ICAM) to ensure availability, compatibility, and accuracy of post-processors for all new CNC machines.
  • Maintain programming documentation, tool libraries, and revision control in accordance with company standards.
  • Support production teams on program prove-outs and troubleshooting when required.


System Integration & Standardization



  • Support implementation of the NX-Vericut-Force software ecosystem across all Barnes Aerospace manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and maintain programming best practices, templates, and standards to ensure global consistency.
  • Collaborate with local engineering and operations teams to migrate legacy CAM programs to the new standard environment.
  • Participate in post-processor validation and simulation testing for new machine installations.


Cross-Site Support



  • Provide regional "surge" programming support to the East Granby and East Hartford facilities, including rapid turnaround on urgent program revisions.
  • Periodically support other Barnes Aerospace sites across the U.S. for standardized program rollout or training.
  • Communicate effectively across site engineering teams, ensuring alignment on methods, tools, and updates.


Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience in aerospace or precision machining environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Siemens NX CAM and Vericut/Vericut Force.
  • Proven experience developing 5-axis programs for complex geometry (e.g., compressor/turbine components, cases, or housings).
  • Experience with post-processor configuration and collaboration with suppliers such as CGTech and ICAM.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, APQP/PPAP, and aerospace quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, cutting tool technologies, and machining process optimization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support multiple sites remotely.
  • Experience with Syteline ERP and Microsoft Office preferred.



Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline required.
