We are looking for a Test and Automation Intern to add to our team! This internship will start Summer 2026 and ideally continue year-round into the 2026-27 school year. Ideal candidates will be able to work 10-15 hours during the school year and full-time during the summer.

Responsibilities
As a Test and Automation Engineering intern at J.W. Speaker, you will utilize your sharp engineering skills in dynamic environment. Don't expect to sit at a desk all day - our Test and Automation Engineering interns work closely with our teams on the following tasks:



  • Assembling and wiring of PLC based test and automation equipment
  • Integrating sensors and vision systems into test equipment
  • Assisting in the start-up and validation of automated assembly lines
  • Robotic programming


Be ready to jump right in!
Qualifications


  • Must be working towards a mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related engineering degree at an accredited college or university
  • All school years are encouraged to apply!


Hiring Process
Apply online by February 1, 2026. This internship would start ideally May / June 2026. Year around interns typically work 8-15 hours per week and full-time during breaks and summer when possible. The Campus Recruiting team reviews resumes on a rolling basis. The internship hiring process consists of two interviews. Typically, the first interview is conducted at your college or university campus or over the phone. The second interview is at the J.W. Speaker corporate headquarters in Germantown, WI. All candidates will be notified of hiring decisions via e-mail or phone and validated with a formal offer letter around March 2026. Occasionally, we may receive requests for interns after this date and will reach out to those interns who best fit our new hiring needs.

Education
Some college of Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Some college of Electrical Engineering (preferred)
