Position Summary

The
University of New Mexico-Valencia is currently seeking outgoing candidates with
strong communication skills for the position of Community and Outreach
Specialist (Outreach Coordinator) for our Early, Non-Academic, Revitalize, Outreach, Learning Support
and Learning (ENROLL) Program.

This position will work with the Program Director in a two-pronged approach to
outreach; 1) K-12, and 2) Industry. This position will develop,
coordinate, and lead events/programs with area high schools establishing a
school presence. The Coordinator will periodically meet with students in
conjunction with the schools' counselors to promote the events which are
developed to acclimate students to the UNM-Valencia campus and create a
seamless transition from high school to college. This position will also
be the liaison for industry outreach in the local community and will focus on
strengthening existing partnerships while building new ones to establish
internships, as well as work with the campus donor relations manager building
scholarships. This is a grant funded position with current funding through December 2027, to
be institutionalized thereafter.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural
Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year
branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community
college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.
With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic
transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses
to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff
serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
