Sr. Project CAD Designer (Part-Time)

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunities for our current and prospective team members. As a result, we are looking for a Part-time (less than 30 hours week), Senior Project CAD Designer to join our transportation group, supporting hydraulic and hydrology planning, analysis and design for facilities including but not limited to storm water management infrastructure, roadways, roundabouts, trails, airports and parking lots.

This opportunity is available in our Denver, Colorado office location.

Responsibilities include:

• Design development of transportation related projects
• Mentoring and serving as a resource and technical leader
• Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits and designs for projects
• Coordinating with project managers/practice leaders to perform CAD/BIM QA/QC on projects at the appropriate milestones
• Research and recommend advances in technical software and other new technology in the field to improve efficiency
• Assist with cost estimates
• Assist with business development and scoping of projects

A valid driver's license, and some travel may be requested.

The successful candidate will have:

• An Associate degree in engineering, or related field, from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience

--OR-

• If no degree, a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant CAD and civil design experience
• Expert with Autodesk Civil3D and/or Bently OpenRoads
• Proficient with AutoTurn
• Experience with Infraworks
• Extensive design experience with roadways, highways, trails, drainage, intersections, roundabouts, rail, airports and other aspects of heavy civil type projects
• Working with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Details/Specifications
• Working with Colorado Communities
• Mentoring junior staff

Salary Range: $44.00 - $57.00 (hourly) - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
