About the Opportunity: We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Quality Engineer III to join our Quality Assurance team. This role is critical in ensuring that all aerospace components and systems meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to support product quality throughout the entire lifecycle.

Location: Malden, MA

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Assume the role of Lead Auditor including leading Internal, third party, customer and regulatory audits. Will be the focal point for all audits.
  • Process Improvement: Support process improvement initiatives by performing MSAs, SPC analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for quality-related issues, including performing detailed root cause analysis, implementing solutions, and hands-on measurement verification when needed. Assist in new product design reviews and quality assessments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with manufacturing engineers, production teams, and quality inspectors to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with quality standards. Facilitate the implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures. Role will involve presenting to the Customer in person or on teleconferences.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate documentation related to quality inspections, measurement data, and non-conformance reports. Ensure that all records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Supplier Quality: Support supplier quality management by assisting in the evaluation and improvement of supplier performance. Participate in supplier audits and address quality issues as needed.
  • Training Support: Assist in training and developing team members on quality processes, inspection techniques, and quality standards. Support the continuous development of quality practices within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7-8 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • 7-8 years strong knowledge of quality standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, AS13100 and FAA regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience working with NADCAP special processes.
  • Background in APQP/PPAP/AS9145 processes.
  • Experience with quality tools (FMEA, RCCA-8D, SPC, MSA, Control Plans) and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with ERP and QMS systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
