The Material Manager is responsible for overseeing all Material Management activities within construction projects, ensuring full traceability, accuracy, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

This role ensures proper coordination between Operations, Cost Control, Procurement, Quality and Project Management for all material flows - from receipt to utilization and final inventory - using JDE ERP as the core system of record.



Job Responsibilities:



  1. Material Receiving and Documentation
    - Support requestor to verify incoming materials against Purchase Orders (PO) and Delivery Notes (DN).
    - Ensure that all received materials are properly recorded, scanned, and uploaded to the shared project folder.
    - Register goods receipts in JDE ERP, aligning physical and system quantities.
    - Perform random checks (spot controls) on key material classes (Aggregates, Fuel, Precast, Concrete, Steel, Cement, etc.) using measurement tools such as flow meters and truck scales to verify quantities.
    - Support requestor to certify the conformity of materials before enabling invoice payments.
  2. Material Management and Stock Control
    - Maintain daily updates of material movements (entries and withdrawals) in JDE, ensuring that physical and accounting stock remain aligned.
    - Support Operations in identifying discrepancies between received quantities and DDTs.
    - Keep records, and documentation up to date for compliance and audit purposes.
  3. Inventory and Control
    - Plan and coordinate with operations semi-annual inventories for all material classes identified at project start with HQ Supply Chain, Cost Control, and Project Management.
    - Record inventory counts in JDE and manage approval workflows for any discrepancies.
    - Coordinate with AFC (Area Finance & Control) and Project Manager for validation of positive or negative adjustments.
    - Work with Cost Control to ensure all differences are tracked through a dedicated cost center.
    - Maintain signed and approved documentation for internal audit and financial reviews.
  4. Process, Reporting, and Compliance
    - Guarantee the accuracy and traceability of administrative, accounting, and operational records.
    - Collaborate with Cost Control and HQ Supply Chain to ensure the completeness of documentation for each PO.
    - Produce monthly Material Management reports including stock balance, inventory results, and discrepancies.
    - Support KPI tracking:
    * % of DDT correctly archived
    * Number of completed vs. planned inventories
    * Discrepancies between PO and received materials
    * Value of materials recovered at demobilization
  5. Automation and Digitalization
    - Contribute to the digitalization of the Material Management process through automated document uploading (e.g., OneDrive/SharePoint integrations).
    - Ensure accuracy of Excel-based dashboards and KPI extraction tools.
    - Promote continuous improvement and simplification of operational workflows.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5- 10 years proven experience in Material Management within construction or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Strong command of JDE ERP (JD Edwards) for purchasing, material tracking, and cost monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Familiarity with procurement and financial control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Cost Control, and Operations.
  • English fluency (spoken and written); Italian or Spanish is a plus.
