Reporting to the Global People & Culture (P&C) Compliance & Governance Director this role supports the management of M&A human capital issues, ensuring smooth integration with other company functions through deal life-cycle including: due diligence, integration planning, post sign/close divestiture work, execution and transition, and may include the following responsibilities.

As the Global P&C Mergers & Acquisitions Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Develops P&C best practices on processes that will be utilized during all deal initiatives, both domestic and international, continuously improving the deal execution and integration processes.

  • Supports P&C M&A leads with M&A team meetings and partners with Global P&C organization on due diligence and analysis. Ensures all P&C efforts are coordinated, and operational P&C risks are identified and addressed during due diligence and integration.

  • Provides expertise, strategic consulting as well as thought leadership to help drive effective people strategies for each deal and influence deal negotiations accordingly.

  • Contributes to enhancing the structure of the P&C M&A due diligence and deal life-cycle processes, including integration checklists, project templates, best practices, and project management tools pertaining to P&C.

  • Serves as a liaison to ensure smooth integration of mergers and acquisitions into the organization, providing valuable insight on the integration of P&C processes and practices.

  • Works closely with all L&E, Business Development, and other functional teams to ensure a comprehensive and consistent people strategy for all M&A activity

  • Partners and coaches extended P&C team to ensure integration and/or divestiture plans are delivered consistently across the globe, in compliance with local processes and policies, and with a focus on delivering a seamless and engaging employee experience

  • Assists business segment P&C teams in troubleshooting M&A-related issues and supporting the unique needs of acquired employees and leaders throughout their first year as they transition to new P&C tools, programs, and processes

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • At least 8 years of experience in Human Resources

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Strong Analytical skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience managing P&C functional activities in the context of business acquisitions, mergers, and/or divestitures is a plus

  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in P&C Compliance

  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge internal platforms

  • Experience managing a global P&C portfolio and knowledge of global labour and employment standards/requirements and how they impact people processes; experience in policy and front-facing P&C roles an asset

  • Strong project and program management skills is required with proven success in driving and completing multiple cross-functional and cross-regional project experience

  • Proven discretion in managing highly confidential information, including sensitive employee demographic and compensation data and adherence to global data privacy requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills - ability to see the "bigger picture" and understand strategic/broader implications, but also get into the weeds when needed

  • Ability to understand and see the connectivity between P&C and other functional partners
