Overview

Auditing's Data Analytics Center of Excellence (DA-COE) is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support our advanced data analytics capabilities. This position will be responsible for partnering with team members and business customers to identify and develop analytical business solutions, using a variety of data, visualization, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to present complex analysis in clear and understandable terms.The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual must be comfortable working with teams and customers. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and developing advanced analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Auditings DA COE is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support our advanced data analytics capabilities. This position will be responsible for partnering with team members and customers to identify and develop analytical business solutions, using a variety of data, visualization, and AI tools to to present complex analysis in clear and understandable terms.
  • The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual must be comfortable working with teams and customers. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and developing advanced analytics solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement analytical models and data visualizations to drive and support key business decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI or Generative AI (GenAI) tools to enhance business processes, drive innovation, or improve decision-making.
  • Communicate and present analysis and complex ideas in easily understood terms.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives leveraging advanced analytics.
  • Provide technical support functions for analytics during the audit planning/discovery phases of audit engagements.
  • Support data analytics projects, audit fieldwork, and continuous monitoring initiatives.
  • Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business or other related quantitative field such as Data Analytics and 3 or more years of relevant full time employment experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • 2 years of Utility experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Three or more years of relevant employment experience in an analytical field, required.
  • Experience using data analytics and data visualization tools (e.g. Oracle Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau) to support assurance audits and ongoing monitoring, required.
  • Experience handling and processing data sets for analysis and/or audit reporting, required.
  • Proven track record of strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, especially around analytical concepts and methods, required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail, required.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and assignments efficiently while meeting audit support deadlines, required.
  • Advanced proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft Office tools, required.
  • Holds professional certification or possesses substantial experience in applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence within auditing contexts, preferred.
  • Well-versed in Oracle Analytics Cloud Solutions, preferred.
  • Experienced in using statistical programming languages, such as Python, for analysis, preferred.
  • Proficient in SQL and Microsoft Access for querying and managing audit-related data sets, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
