What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an experienced, full-stack Software Engineer to contribute to the development of the data factory and software services for our cutting-edge battery products. This position will help drive technological advancement by delivering data and software solutions to solve high-volume manufacturing problems. Battery development is at the heart of Tesla's mission, and this is an exciting opportunity to address the central challenges in scaling electric vehicle manufacturing and to see the physical impact of your work. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.


What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and development of our model training infrastructure for advanced Data Science applications in manufacturing
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple departments on model design and hardware selection for efficient compilation and execution
  • Build scalable and reliable pipelines to deploy models and monitor performance metrics in a production environment
  • Keep up-to-date and conduct research to identify new ML training approaches and incorporate these into our platform
  • Provide technical guidance to teams within Manufacturing's data engineering / software community

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ with 5+ years of experience in Software Development
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining production-grade ML infrastructure
  • Experience working with training frameworks and understanding of modern machine learning concepts
  • Experience working with ML compilers
  • Experience with distributed computing and big data analytics
  • Experience leading a software product from concept to production

    Expected Compensation
    $111,200 - $246,720/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
