POSITION SUMMARY

The Hardgoods & Tuning Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of Stratton's First Run Ski Shop, with a primary focus on ski and snowboard hardgoods sales, tuning services, and guest service excellence. This position provides hands-on leadership to the First Run team, ensuring efficient operations, exceptional product knowledge, and adherence to Stratton's service and safety standards. The Supervisor partners closely with retail leadership and tuning technicians to deliver an elevated guest experience while driving sales performance and maintaining shop quality and integrity. This is a benefit eligible, flex year-round position compensated between $22.00 - $25.00/hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Manage daily shop operations, including sales, tuning service coordination, inventory management, and staff supervision
  • Foster a welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional shop environment
  • Ensure proper cash handling, POS accuracy, and adherence to Stratton's asset protection and loss prevention procedures
  • Supervise and support sales associates and tuning staff
  • Create and manage weekly staff schedules; review and approve timecards and assist with payroll processes
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Retail Group Manager regarding operational updates, staffing needs, and performance feedback
  • Collaborate with buyers on product selection, inventory levels, and open-to-buy planning specific to hardgoods and accessories
  • Oversee product merchandising, warranty processing, and back-of-house organization
  • Uphold tuning service standards in coordination with the tuning technicians, ensuring equipment is serviced safely, efficiently, and to guest satisfaction
  • Participate in retail, rental, and corporate training programs; assist in developing and leading in-store training sessions for staff
  • Promote a culture of safety
  • Conduct inventory counts, reconcile variances, and monitor for theft or loss prevention concerns
  • Support seasonal transitions
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, vendors, and corporate retail partners to support smooth daily operations


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Previous retail and cash-handling experience, required
  • Boot fitting and/or ski or snowboard tuning experience, required
  • Prior supervisory or management experience, preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound understanding of ski and snowboard hardgoods, tuning services, and related product lines
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning new POS and retail systems
  • Collaborative, professional, and passionate about mountain sports and guest experience


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position will require working evenings, weekends and holidays.
