What You'll Do:

• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational location, including campus buildings and surrounding perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and procedures.
• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and by assisting students, staff, and visitors as needed.
• Participate in emergency response activities, including administering support during medical emergencies, evacuations, and/or other urgent situations.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of activity around the location.
• Communicate promptly and clearly with Allied Universal management and local authorities as needed during incidents or emergencies.
• Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in a timely and accurate manner according to location and Allied Universal guidelines.
• Remain alert and professional while carrying out all security-related tasks, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for extended periods of time is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
