Job Description




As a Security Guard - Government Patrol Driving Role in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your primary focus will be on conducting routine patrols and remaining visible to support a positive atmosphere for all visitors and staff. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling the premises using a company vehicle. You'll have the chance to provide exceptional customer service while upholding the values of integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual circumstances encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, site personnel, and/or visitors to provide assistance or directions as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and logs related to daily activities, incidents, and observations during assigned shifts.
  • Follow all protocols and guidelines as directed by Allied Universal and the location's specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have 1 or more years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
