Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Specialist PT in Elgin, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol areas within a food and beverage location, contributing to a secure environment. By conducting regular patrols, remaining visible, and providing excellent customer service, you help to deter security-related incidents and foster positive interactions. You will use your communication skills and attention to detail to handle access control and respond to alarms as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding appropriately to situations as they arise.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for any irregularities.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or conditions within the food and beverage production environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and contractors present at the location.
  • Follow all site-specific access control procedures, including verifying credentials and monitoring entry points.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as needed, following Allied Universal guidelines and client protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs, reports, and records as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
