What this job involves:

Join JLL's dynamic Occupancy Planning team as a Senior Occupancy Planner, where you'll drive strategic workplace transformation for Fortune 500 clients. You'll serve as a trusted advisor delivering data-driven occupancy solutions that optimize real estate portfolios, reduce costs, and enhance employee experiences. Working at the intersection of technology, analytics, and workplace strategy, you'll translate complex business requirements into actionable space solutions that support corporate real estate objectives. This role offers direct exposure to senior stakeholders while contributing to JLL's leadership in workplace innovation and real estate optimization services.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: Develop comprehensive occupancy solutions including stacking plans, block plans, and adjacency diagrams using AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Excel to support client migration and optimization strategies
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal Real Estate teams and Line of Business leaders, serving as primary advisor on workplace programs, space allocations, and occupancy decisions *
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate workplace utilization reports and occupancy metrics using CAFM/IWMS systems, business intelligence dashboards, and Excel to support data-driven real estate decisions
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Market Planning, Relocation Management, and Project Management to deliver seamless workplace transformations and migration schedules
  • Space Optimization: Conduct feasibility studies and present multiple scenarios for co-locations, flexible workspace implementations, densification projects, and team consolidations
  • Quality Assurance: Perform physical space audits, manage space allocations in FM:Systems, and ensure compliance with adjacency requirements and regulatory standards
  • Business Case Development: Create comprehensive documentation including associate move lists, pricing options, and execution plans while supporting business cases for real estate actions
Required Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of occupancy/space planning experience for corporate clients or interior office planning in corporate real estate environments Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in CAFM/IWMS databases (FMS, Manhattan, TRIRIGA, Archibus), AutoCAD for commercial space planning, and Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex calculations
  • Analytical Expertise: Demonstrated ability to analyze space utilization data, translate business requirements into space solutions, and present compelling data narratives to executive-level stakeholders
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to interact effectively with senior internal and external clients while managing complex project details
  • Workplace Knowledge: Working knowledge of occupancy utilization principles, workplace strategy, office design trends (mobile/collaborative workplaces), and ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines independently, and maintain accuracy in high-pressure environments * Relationship Building: Proven client-focused approach with collaboration skills and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Change Management: Experience supporting workplace transformation initiatives and organizational change processes
  • Advanced Analytics: Familiarity with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and advanced PowerPoint presentation design for executive audiences
  • Industry Certifications: Real estate, project management, or workplace strategy certifications (PMP, CoreNet Global, IFMA)
  • Technology Integration: Experience with additional graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite) and business intelligence platforms
  • Sector Experience: Background in financial services, technology, or other corporate sectors with complex real estate portfolios
  • Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and solution-oriented problem solving
