As a vital member of our Agile team, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing the robust mainframe applications that are the backbone of our operations. Your work will directly influence the performance and reliability of critical COBOL/DB2 systems, ensuring that our services remain uninterrupted and highly efficient. You'll implement essential code changes, meticulously test your work, and collaborate across teams to deliver solutions that directly support our strategic objectives and uphold our commitment to excellence. This role offers the chance to apply your extensive experience to complex challenges, driving forward the stability and innovation of our core technology infrastructure. **What You'll Do**
* Implement essential code changes to COBOL programs, copybooks, JCL, and DB2 stored procedures.
* Conduct thorough unit testing for all code changes and additions (COBOL, copybooks, JCL, DB2 SPs) to ensure quality and reliability.
* Provide crucial support to Quality Assurance teams during integration and regression testing, actively reproducing and diagnosing defects.
* Engage actively in Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, contributing to a collaborative and iterative development process.
* Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams to validate dependencies and ensure smooth integrations.
* Collaborate with external vendors as needed to test and validate critical dependencies.
* Document all changes and testing results comprehensively, and manage tasks and defects effectively using industry-standard tools. **What You'll Bring (Must-Haves)**
* 10+ years of robust COBOL development experience.
* Practical, hands-on knowledge of DB2, including the development and maintenance of stored procedures.
* Proficiency in JCL and operational experience within a z/OS/MVS environment.
* Demonstrated experience in performing comprehensive unit testing for mainframe artifacts.
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and active participation in team ceremonies.
* Experience utilizing JIRA and Confluence for work management, task tracking, and documentation.
* Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, essential for effective cross-team interactions.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. **What Will Set You Apart (Nice-to-Haves)**
* Experience with mainframe change/release management tools.
* Familiarity with VSAM, IMS, or other mainframe databases.
