The Opportunity

The successful candidate will act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on current and emerging state and federal LDAR regulations impacting oil and gas operations. Responsibilities include leading compliance coordination, overseeing reporting requirements, and serving as the primary regulatory LDAR expert for the U.S. Natural Gas Business Unit.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and manage the US Natural Gas Business Unit's LDAR program to comply with applicable federal (NSPS OOOOa/b/c) and state (CA, NY, MD, and PA) requirements

  • Manage monitoring schedules, budgets, reporting activities, and compliance documentation

  • Oversee third-party contractors performing OGI, Method 21, and data management

  • Ensure accurate data entry, QA/QC, and timely submission of LDAR reports

  • Collaborate with Operations, Projects, and Technical & Operational Emissions Management teams on compliance strategies

  • Collect and validate data from field, contractor, and corporate teams

  • Provide technical guidance to operations staff on Clean Air Act compliance

  • Support development and enhancement of compliance tools and systems

  • Conduct LDAR training for internal stakeholders

  • Interpret and apply federal and state LDAR regulations

  • Participate with a team of internal environmental SMEs to assure compliance with and audit/review of company operating procedures and processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences or related disciplines, with a focus on climate change and air emissions

  • Minimum 6years environmental compliance or related experience, with comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with air and greenhouse gas regulations pertaining to oil and gas operations

  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable plans

  • Experience and knowledge of environmental information management systems including one or more of the following software systems: Enablon, Sphera Essential, Intelex, or others.

  • Excellent computer skills - proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proven experience in LDAR program coordination and compliance

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging effectively across all levels of internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of NSPS OOOOa/b/c and state methane regulations

  • Excellent program management and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Familiarity with emissions monitoring technologies and data systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Federal & State air permitting processes for transmission pipelines and storage facilities across the US

  • Strong background in complex air and GHG regulatory compliance

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experienced in managing large operational datasets for emissions calculations and reporting

  • Highly collaborative team player across functional groups

  • Proficient in data querying and visualization using SQL and Power BI (or similar tools)
