You're a detail-driven financial analyst with strong commercial credit knowledge and a deep understanding of covenant compliance. You excel at interpreting financial statements, spotting risk indicators early, and maintaining accurate, compliant records. You're proactive, organized, and skilled at collaborating with Relationship Bankers and Credit partners. Your approach balances analytical rigor with sound judgment, allowing you to handle sensitive borrower information with discretion. About the Role

As a Portfolio Credit Analyst at First Western Trust, you'll play a key role in protecting the integrity of our commercial loan portfolio by ensuring borrower compliance with financial covenants. You'll take ownership of post-financials covenant monitoring, perform detailed calculations, and escalate potential defaults with clarity and accuracy. Working closely with Relationship Bankers and Credit, you'll act as a gatekeeper for risk, ensuring our portfolio remains healthy and well-managed. What You'll Do

  • Monitor, calculate, and evaluate borrower compliance with financial covenants such as DSCR, global debt coverage, and liquidity thresholds.


  • Document and escalate covenant breaches, coordinate default notifications, and support the development of waivers or remediation plans.


  • Manage a proactive covenant calendar, ensuring timely receipt and review of borrower financials.


  • Clear covenant-related tracking exceptions in the Loan Origination System (LOS) after compliance verification.


  • Support regulatory audits and internal compliance testing related to covenant monitoring.


  • Collaborate with Relationship Bankers and Credit to ensure accurate interpretation and handling of covenant requirements.


  • Assist with adjacent portfolio tasks such as maturing loan oversight and construction loan monitoring as needed.



What You Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required.


  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial credit analysis, loan review, or financial covenant monitoring.


  • Deep understanding of financial statement analysis, loan structures, and covenant requirements.


  • Experience with BakerHill or similar Loan Origination Systems (LOS).


  • High discretion in handling sensitive borrower financials and sound professional judgment.


  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated environment.
