The Leidos Defense Systems Sector - Manufacturing Division is seeking a talented Electrical Quality Engineer to join our team. We provide a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. The Electrical Quality Engineer ensures that electrical systems, products, and components are developed and manufactured according to established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with design, production, and supply chain teams to ensure product reliability, compliance, and performance - including verifying that all AS9102 Rev C documentation is completed prior to delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inspect components and assembled parts in accordance with drawings.

  • Review and approve assembly instructions.

  • Approve procurement requisitions.

  • Read and interpret drawings and technical data packages.

  • Perform internal AS9100 audits.

  • Write non-conformances and lead root cause investigations.

  • Conduct environmental testing and analysis of electrical boards and components.

  • Complete FAI reviews and perform source inspections at approved supplier locations.

  • Report supplier "Notices of Change" to management.

  • Conduct vendor source inspections offsite.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience, in lieu of a degree, a High School diploma/GED with 10 years of quality experience will be considered.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams and management levels.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

  • Experience with electrical testing environments and equipment.

  • Skilled in using micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, radius gauges, calipers, etc.

  • Experience in an ISO 9001 / AS9100 manufacturing environment.

  • IPC 610/620 or J-STD certification required.

  • Ability to complete handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Capable of working full-time with minimal supervision and shifting priorities as needed.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for quality source inspections.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • Clearance Required: U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and resident or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama area.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with government contracts and SOW interpretation.

  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.

  • Prior auditing experience.
